Description

It’s the late nineties and rival drug cartels are looking to collaborate in the Caribbean. At the center of this dangerous chaos, Gunner, an experienced captain, agrees to pilot a mega-yacht named “Destiny” from Palermo to the Caribbean so the Italian and Russian mafia bosses can oversee and celebrate the arrival of the coalition’s first large drug shipment.

Palmer, a pretty DEA agent, is inserted as a crew member of the “Destiny” to stop the first shipment from Odesa, Ukraine, and arrest the leaders, but she makes friends with the captain. Uncertain of Gunner’s motives, Palmer becomes torn between her growing love for Gunner and her duty to take him down along with the cartel.

During the sail from the Mediterranean to Aruba, they struggle in the grey area between good and evil. This is riveting romantic suspense with a surprising conclusion.

Deep Waters of Destiny was an outstanding read! I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, plot and relationships Carlson developed between his characters. I especially enjoyed the ending, which caught me by complete surprise. I have read all of Carlson’s books and Deep Waters of Destiny is by far my favorite.

In Carlson’s third novel, he has combined excitement and suspense along with some romance and warm touching sentiment. There’s a twist at the end too! Really enjoyed it!

Smell the salt air. I know the ocean, sailing and large yachts. Often descriptions come up short, authors trying to describe what they are unfamiliar with. Not in the case. I recommend this novel. Well written with an unexpected ending.

Having thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Carlson’s first two novels, I downloaded my Kindle version of Deep Waters of Destiny with great anticipation. I was not disappointed! Carlson has written another terrific story. I usually pride myself on guessing where a story is going, but this one has surprises at every turn. The character development is superb…you really feel like you know them by the end of the book. And the topic seems especially timely. Don’t miss this one!
