Alyssa D. Metcalfe’s life has taken many turns. She had yearslong careers as a line cook, a veterinary assistant, an equestrian professional, and a public safety telecommunicator. She did shorter stints as a stand-up comic, a taxicab driver, and a stripper. As an author, her short work has been featured in various publications. She was born and raised in New York City, where her experiences continue to inspire much of her writing. She currently lives on a small farm on Cape Cod.
