How do you really know another person especially someone with whom you have limited contact? I have known JK Cheema since 1975 when we were both graduate students in the same program. Our contact was sporadic after finishing our degrees until it picked up a bit when I began visiting Madison, Wisconsin with some regularity. Yet upon reading Black Attaché I was struck by the realization that there was so much I didn’t know about Cheema.

I loved the structure Cheema used ~ including short stories that focus on events in her life, and that capture the thoughts and emotions that emanate from them.
