JK Cheema was born in 1942 to a Sikh family in Lahore, which was then India and now Pakistan. In 1975, she moved to Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, for her graduate studies. After graduation, she had a successful career with the United States Agency for International Development. She moved to Madison, Wisconsin after retirement where she lives with her husband. This is her second book.
