Tom Gartland

Tom Gartland is a compassionate, strategic, and inspiring author, speaker, and leader who helped transform the culture of a Fortune 500 company into an engaged, collaborative, top-performing organization that experienced unprecedented growth.

Currently a member of the board of directors of two publicly traded companies (Xenia Hotels and ABM), and a senior advisor to a private equity firm founded by the Rockefeller, Mellon, and Harriman family interests and S.G. Warburg & Co. (AEA Investors), Tom is the former president, North America, for Avis Budget Group (2011–2014).

At Avis Budget Group, Tom was responsible for the daily management of more than 20,000 employees in 5,000 locations, overseeing over 350,000 vehicles, which accounted for more than $5 billion in annual revenue.

He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of St. Thomas, where he is on the Board of Governors at Opus College.
