Patrick Lapinski, a native of Superior, Wisconsin, is a researcher, historian, writer and photographer concentrating on the Great Lakes maritime industry. The author’s writing and photography have been featured for many years in Great Lakes maritime publications. Lapinski is the author of four books: Ships of the Great Lakes; Great Lakes Shipping: Ports and Cargoes; In The Yard: The History of Fraser Shipyards, 1890-2017; and In Neptune’s Realm: The Maritime Legacy of the Thompson and Norick Hard Hat Diving Family.
