George Crocker

George W. Crocker was raised in a Quaker family, came of age during the American War in Southeast Asia, and went to prison for refusing induction. He then worked briefly in the Food Coop Movement, and joined with farmers during a powerline fight across West-Central Minnesota, documented by Senator Paul Wellstone and Dr. Barry M. Casper in Powerline: The First Battle of America’s Energy Wars. This experience caused Mr. Crocker to Co-found the North American Water Office with his wife, Lea Foushee, and he has spent his career confronting, cajoling, and sometimes leading the electric utility industry toward a cleaner, more equitable energy future.
